Miranda Melville Punches Ticket to Rome for the IAAF World Team Championships of Race Walking

(Sunday, April 3rd, 2016 Earth City, Missouri)  Miranda Melville will represent the USA in Rome, Italy, on May 7 & 8 in the IAAF World Team Championships of Race Walking. Melville finished 2nd on Sunday at the USA Team Trials with a 1:37:21. This is the 9th USA international team for the 2007 Rush-Henrietta graduate.

Melville, now sponsored by Skechers Performance & the NYAC, is ranked #28 in the World after her 7th place finish with a PR of 1:31:42 just 2 weeks ago in Nomi Japan.

Melville said, "We are racing quite a bit this year and this race was more about place than time for me. With several big races very close together this season including the Olympic trials on June 30th, I needed to race smart".

Miranda Melville is one of 6 local athletes to recently receive a training and travel grant from the Greater Rochester Amateur Athletic Federation, GRAAFUSA.org.
